Below is the example code to submit a form in jQuery:
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.2.6/jquery.js"></script>
<form id="myForm" method="post" action="#">
Name: <input type="text" name="username" />
Comment: <textarea name="comment"></textarea>
<input type="submit" value="Submit Comment" />
</form>
<script type="text/javascript">
$('#myForm').submit(function() {
alert($('input:text[name=username]').val());
return false;
})
</script>
The form id is myForm. To submit a form, the jQuery method $('#myForm').submit(function() {}) is used. To access the form data username in input text: $('input:text[name=username]').val()
